About This Item

Magdalena Briner Eby (1832 - 1915) lived in Perry County, PA. The rugs she hooked throughout her lifetime are regarded as exceptional examples of American folk art and can be found in some of the most distinguished private collections throughout the country.

Evelyn Lawrence and Kathy Wright have gathered over ten years of research to tell the story of Magdalena's family, her life and the rugs attributed to her.

This beautiful book takes a look at the materials, designs and colors of those rugs as well as the story of how the rugs came to market. The book includes wonderful photos and accompanied by their interesting provenance, as well as a section on visiting Perry County today.

Evelyn and Kathy's mission is described, creating the complete story of Magdalena and her art, then and now.
